Tauranga Crossing is owned by Tauranga Crossing Ltd, a Kiwi company with extensive property investment experience in New Zealand and Australia. The centre is managed by Oyster Property Group Ltd.

The team behind Tauranga Crossing is a passionate bunch. Passionate about the Bay of Plenty, passionate about Tauriko, passionate about the region’s unique and much celebrated lifestyle and respectful of its ancestry.

100 per cent Kiwi owned, they believe Tauranga Crossing is something quite special, and that it reflects the vision many have for the future of the Bay. They are committed to the local community and serving it in the best possible way, whilst offering up something unique that those passing through the region can stop by, pause for a while and enjoy.

The Team

STEVE LEWIS Chief Executive

Steve has 15 years’ experience developing regional shopping centres in New Zealand, with publicly listed institutions. Steve previously led the retail development team at Stride Property for 3 years. Prior to that role Steve was a Development Manager at Kiwi Property for over 10 years. Steve has degrees in Property and Commerce from the University of Auckland, and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).

ANDREW CAMPBELL Chief Financial Officer

Andrew is a Chartered Accountant with over 12 years’ experience in practice and in industry. Andrew joined Tauranga Crossing from Todd Property, where he was the Financial Controller. Andrew has also previously worked for KPMG and large infrastructure organisations in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

RICHARD TAAFFE Development Manager

Richard has a strong Development Management background across all property sectors. Prior to joining Tauranga Crossing he spent 5 years as development manager at Urban Partners. He has worked on multiple town centre and bulk retail projects, in New Zealand’s regions and main centres. Richard holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Massey University, majoring in valuation and property management.

Karen Killick Development Manager

Karen has over 20 years experience in the development of shopping centres with New Zealand’s largest shopping centre owners including Stride Property, Kiwi Property and Westfield New Zealand. Karen has a degree in Property and post graduate diploma in Finance from the University of Auckland.

Ronan McGinley Leasing Manager

Ronan has 13 years’ experience in the shopping centre industry, including 5 years in Europe and 8 years in NZ. In Europe, Ronan oversaw the leasing and strategic management of a portfolio of shopping centres across multiple countries. More recently Ronan has specialised in project leasing in NZ, including 3 years working on shopping centre developments for Stride Property. Ronan is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.


Ian has over 28 years experience in the New Zealand retail leasing market, including 20 years with Kiwi Property as a senior Leasing Executive. Ian has previously been involved in leasing various major shopping centre developments for Kiwi Property, including Northlands and Sylvia Park, where he led key negotiations with international retailers to provide their first store in New Zealand. Ian has a BSC Hons in Land Management.

TANSY GEARY Leasing Administrator

Tansy provides the Leasing Administration Support for Tauranga Crossing. Tansy was previously the Property Portfolio Manager for the largest automotive national retailer in South Africa for 9 years, and she was responsible for administering the leases for over 200 branches.


Malcolm Sabourin of Xigo is the Project Director for the Tauranga Crossing project. Malcolm brings extensive experience on large and complex projects throughout New Zealand, and is supported by the Xigo Project Management team.

Xigo are specialist independent Project Management service providers to the building, infrastructure and property sectors. Xigo has offices in Auckland, Wellington and Tauranga, and the company has extensive experience in delivering challenging projects throughout New Zealand, including regional shopping centres.

Andrew Wadsworth Centre Manager

Andrew has a strong background in retail and management with over 13 years’ experience managing large shopping centres in both Auckland and Tauranga. Prior to this Andrew’s previous roles were in finance, with financial management roles held in various property and other large organisations in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  Andrew’s introduction to shopping centres was back in 2003 as a Finance Manager.


Jess has 8 years’ experience in shopping centre marketing. She has a proven record of delivering successful integrated marketing campaigns and was the only New Zealand finalist in the ICSC 2017 Asia-Pacific Shopping Centre Awards. Jess has a degree in Marketing and Communications from the University of Otago, and a post graduate certificate in Marketing from Lincoln University.


Jill has held Centre Manager roles with Oyster for over 10 years and understands the importance of building relationships with all stakeholders within a business. Prior to working at Oyster Jill held management positions with some of New Zealand’s most well-known retail brands for 15 years. Jill holds a HND in Hotel, Catering, Institutional and Retail Management from Leeds University and various professional qualifications from organisations within the retail industry.

Tauranga Crossing is the newest regional shopping centre in the Bay of Plenty. With the convenience of an open air town centre and the construction of a fully enclosed shopping centre underway, there is no better place to shop, eat and play in the Bay. We look forward to seeing you soon!
