Tauriko School Crowned 2026 Local Legends

Local Legends Grant Winner 2026, Congratulations Tauriko School! 

Tauranga Crossing is proud to announce Tauriko School as the 2026 recipient of the $10,000 Local Legends Grant, following an incredible show of community support. 

Tauriko School has been on a mission to raise funds for a much-needed school van – a resource that will open up opportunities for students to attend sports events, school trips, and community activities. Thanks to the Local Legends Grant, that goal is now within reach, with the van set to hit the road later this year. 

In record-breaking fashion, Tauriko School rallied their community to empty the token bin an impressive five times throughout the month – a true testament to the strength of their support and the impact this project will have. 

This initiative is about more than just transport. It’s about creating access, building connections, and ensuring every student has the chance to participate in experiences beyond the classroom. 

We’re incredibly inspired by the enthusiasm and dedication shown by Tauriko School and their supporters. Congratulations to our Local Legends – we can’t wait to see the new van out and about in the community!
