Third $5,000 Local Legends Grant Winner
The new year was welcomed in with celebrations at Homes of Hope Charitable Trust!
Homes of Hope Charitable Trust have been awarded with the third $5,000 Local Legends Grant.
The submission made by Pam French, secretary at Homes of Hope Charitable Trust spoke of the amazing support that they provide children who have suffered a life of trauma and neglect. “We do this by providing homes in which these trauma experienced children can stay together as brothers and sisters for as long as they need. They receive consistent wrap-around care and therapeutic support to assist their road to recovery.”
Hilary Price, CEO of Homes of Hope, commented what this $5,000 grant means to them. “It’s a huge blessing on so many levels. This means that don’t have to now go out and continually put effort into fundraising, we can focus on what we are here to do, and look after the children.”
The money will go toward purchasing some new play equipment for their tamariki and furnishings for the new home that is currently being built. Homes of Hope are in the process of building a new home so they can house and help more children in need. Hilary and the team are overjoyed to be able to send some of the money in that direction.
“We would love to put part of this money toward the furnishings for the house once it has been built, such as linen, beds and more. It will be fantastic to send aroha in that direction.”
