The friendly team at Shoe Science Tauranga Crossing are thrilled to be the title sponsor for the 2021 Shoe Science Tauranga Marathon, taking to the streets of the beautiful bay city on Sunday, September 19th. The event is one of the most prestigious in the Bay of Plenty and over 2,500 participants are expected for a day that has something for everyone.
For the hard core runner the 21k half marathon, 42k marathon and unique new 50k ultra marathon all start next to the waves at Papamoa. The views just keep getting better and better as they round the mount, cross the harbour bridge and run through the city. For the rest of us mere mortals, there are 5k and 10k options based in the city and there’s even a dash for the kids later in the day. Every finisher is guaranteed two things; a rollicking welcome as they run down The Strand to finish and a superb commemorative medal to mark their achievement.
