BETTER TOGETHER

We are pleased to announce that Tauranga Crossing is moving forward with extending our shopping centre. Our goal has always been to create a vibrant hub of retail and entertainment that is deeply connected to the community. We are committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience and to being a contributing member of the thriving Bay of Plenty community. Initial works have begun, and we are happy to share with you that Farmers will move from its existing location in our Lifestyle Centre into a purpose-built location over two levels in this Centre. In addition to this, more stores will be added to complement the valued retails stores already here. The Centre will continue to trade as normal through these changes with minimal impact on your shopping experience.

BETTER FOR THE FUTURE

Our 714 solar panels generate an impressive amount of clean, renewable electricity every year, helping us make a real difference for the environment. The impact is the equivalent of offsetting around 42.4 tonnes of CO₂ annually, which is the same as planting over 1,800 trees every single year and letting them grow to maturity. To put it another way, the carbon savings are also the same as avoiding nearly 170,000 kilometres of car travel—that’s like driving all the way around the Earth not once, not twice, but four times! By harnessing the power of the sun, we’re reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions, lowering our reliance on fossil fuels, and doing our part to create a cleaner, greener future for our community and generations to come.

TOGETHER WITH THE ENVIRONMENT

Tauranga Crossing is deeply committed to the principles of sustainability, which guide our daily operations and decision-making. The core objective of this approach is to improve the well-being of individuals, the environment, and wildlife in our community. To achieve this goal, we have developed many ambitious initiatives to realise our vision. With our sustainability principles at the forefront, we will be cladding the top two thirds of this extension in solar panels and the bottom third with a living, green wall. ChargeNet has installed the largest collection of EV charging stations in New Zealand at Tauranga Crossing, 10 fast charging points, including one campervan and one car and trailer. Baybus OnDemand has arrived at Tauranga Crossing. This local, electric rideshare service is personalised transport that works with your schedule. Tauranga Crossing is committed to ongoing evolution, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of both the community and the environment, all with minimal impact on your shopping experience.

OUR TIMELINE FOR 2025

Works for the extension commenced in April 2024 and is scheduled for completion late 2025.
